Santo Domingo.– El vocero de los diputados del Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM), Amado Díaz, arremetió este viernes contra el senador Antonio Taveras Guzmán, luego del choque que protagonizó con el presidente del Senado, Ricardo de los Santos.
Díaz calificó al senador por la provincia Santo Domingo como un “helógrata, narcisista e inadaptado”, asegurando que su comportamiento refleja una actitud de superioridad frente a sus colegas del Congreso.
“Se cree por encima del bien y del mal y por encima de los demás senadores. Por eso no tiene un solo amigo en los salones del Congreso Nacional”, expresó el diputado oficialista, al referirse a Taveras.
Las declaraciones de Amado Díaz se producen luego de que Taveras denunciara públicamente que el texto del Código Penal aprobado en la Cámara de Diputados fue modificado sin que se conociera previamente en la comisión bicameral, de la cual él mismo formaba parte.
Durante la sesión del jueves en el Senado, Taveras alegó que sus compañeros senadores se disponían a votar sin tener certeza sobre el contenido final del proyecto.
Ante esas afirmaciones, Ricardo de los Santos, presidente del Senado, lo enfrentó con dureza, recordándole que participó en la comisión que analizó el proyecto y exigiéndole respeto hacia el trabajo realizado desde el 25 de marzo.
En ese contexto, Amado Díaz reiteró su respaldo al proyecto y pidió al presidente Luis Abinader que promulgue la pieza.
“Esta sociedad necesita, adolece y procura que se produzca esa promulgación del Código Penal”, concluyó.
