Santo Domingo.– El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores (Mirex) respondió este jueves al pronunciamiento del Consejo Presidencial de Transición (CPT) de Haití, recordando que República Dominicana tiene el derecho y el deber de proteger su integridad territorial ante cualquier amenaza.
Mediante un comunicado, la Cancillería dominicana reiteró que, si bien el país ha mostrado disposición al diálogo y la cooperación con Haití, su actual política migratoria responde al contexto de crisis y violencia que atraviesa la vecina nación, lo que representa un riesgo latente para la seguridad nacional.
“República Dominicana ha actuado de manera firme y conforme a su legislación vigente. Las repatriaciones de ciudadanos haitianos en situación migratoria irregular se realizan bajo el marco legal y respetando los procedimientos establecidos”, puntualiza el documento.
El Mirex también señaló que las autoridades dominicanas continuarán enfrentando las redes de trata y tráfico de personas, al tiempo que reiteraron la voluntad del país de mantener un canal abierto de diálogo respetuoso con Haití y con organismos internacionales, en busca de soluciones sostenibles.
El comunicado concluye destacando que la nación dominicana no renunciará a su responsabilidad de garantizar la paz, la estabilidad y la convivencia dentro de su territorio.
